Integrity Management and Rulemaking in High Consequence Areas - Enhanced Communications:   April 13, 2000

As a part of the Department of Transportation's Office of Pipeline Safety's (OPS) proposal to issue integrity management requirements for pipelines in high consequence areas, OPS is considering a rule for enhanced communications with public officials in communities with high consequence areas with a focus on expanding current efforts to share information and communicate with public officials about the presence of pipelines, the risk assessment and management processes in high consequence areas and prevention measures to avoid pipeline accidents.
