The Public Education & Awareness Practices Task Team will evaluate and determine the best practices related to the methods used to educate the public on the prevention of damages to all underground and submerged facilities. The Team will also evaluate best practices in the utilization of available resources in public education. It is considered that successful public education and awareness programs and practices will result in a significantly enhanced level of safety to the public, reduction of environmental damage, and improved service reliability.
